One floorboard restoration service from Nu-Life will leave your floors looking even better than new.
Take a look at our step by step process…
Step 1 – First, the room will be carefully prepared efficiently for health and safety reasons. All loose wires, breakable items and furniture must be removed. We will lay down protection to your flooring in the areas that are not being treated, so that no mess or damage occurs when entering and exiting the room. Things like walls and skirting boards will also be protected.
Step 2 – The floor will then be vacuumed using a HEPA filtration vacuum cleaner to remove any loose dirt and dust.
Step 3 – Next, we will dry mop the floor with large 100% cotton mops to ensure any remaining soils are removed in readiness for sanding.
Step 4 – A professional grade abrasive screen disc sanding machine is employed to ensure complete removal of any old seal coatings, dirt and soil, leaving an extremely uniform finish, in readiness for the next stage of the process.
Step 5 – A professional and specially designed machine is used on all the edges to ensure even blending of the perimeter and main floor areas.
Step 6 – Once the sanding process is complete, the team will sweep, vacuum and dust all areas in order to eliminate any remaining dust in readiness for the next step.
Step 7 – Using a soft cloth dampened with mineral spirits, the entire floor will be wiped for a more in-depth cleaning.
Step 8 – Windows will be open (where safe to do so) to ventilate the area, before the application of a selected seal finish product in an unobtrusive area, to ensure the colour is to your satisfaction.
Step 9 – Next, we carefully apply even coats of selected wood floor finish using specialised rollers and edging brushes.
Step 10 – And finally, the application of the highest quality strengthening lacquer, which bonds to the wood floor finish to create a protective finish, providing strong durability and ease of maintenance.
